Tell us more about yourself and what led you to your current position.

My name is Karolina Butkutė, and I’m an accountant at Ruptela. Initially, my main job was billing our customers and assisting managers with sales orders. After two years, my role changed, and l became responsible for all payments (from customers) and debts. Patience and stubbornness made it possible to collect very old debts (1-2 years old) and achieve good results in the debt area.

When and why did you join Ruptela’s team?

My journey at Ruptela began in 2018 as an intern while l studied economics in my final year. Why Ruptela? I liked the atmosphere, colleagues and support from the first day.

How does your journey at Ruptela looks like?

During my first steps here, I began to learn the company’s ropes. Being a “billing process fix” project manager, which required restructuring the existing billing process, was the most demanding aspect of the transition to the new environment. Despite the challenges, I was constantly encouraged and given room to develop. Now, even though I’ve learned a lot about the company over the years, l still learn something new daily.

How do you start your day? Please share any rituals or tips&tricks that help you stay productive all-day.

My morning routine is quite adaptable, depending on where I’m working. On days when I work from home, the first and most important thing is a big cup of coffee. However, the routine becomes more social when I go to the office. I usually grab a cup of coffee and have breakfast with my colleagues in the kitchen while we chat. After that, l can start my day by reviewing my schedule and to-do list for the day.

What motivates you to go to work every day?

Two things keep me going to work each day: the chance to learn something new and working with great people. For me, these are the things that make every day count.

What are your job’s most challenging and most cheering elements?

The most challenging aspect of my job is the responsibility that comes with it, which requires constant attention to detail and decision-making. On the other side, the most rewarding part is the opportunity to learn new things and accomplish tasks that I once thought were impossible.

Tell us more about your hobbies

Never say never – the expression that best describes me. I have always been a city kid and couldn’t imagine myself in the village. But I began gardening three years ago – strawberries, tomatoes, melons, watermelons, and more, and it has been the best experience ever to grow everything from a seed! Nothing beats getting out into nature, working hard, and breathing fresh air to calm the mind. Also, this autumn, l returned to my old hobby – dancing.

Interesting facts about you.

Get me some speed and adrenaline! I was given the chance to represent our company in this year’s “108 km Women Challenge” event. Thanks to my amazing colleagues, it was an unforgettable experience. An additional life goal of mine was fulfilled three years ago when I got a motorcycle license. As a type of meditation, it helps to relax and clear my mind.

What is your favorite place in the world? Why?

Since I was born and raised in Lithuania, it will always be my favorite location. It’s special to me because my whole family is here, making it feel like home in every sense.

And the last one – could you share any advice for those who want to start their career in the telematics industry?

Believe in yourself, have courage, and give it a go 🙂
