Smart 5G Satellite-based Global Tracking System (SAT5GL)

UAB “Ruptela” is an international, Lithuanian-owned company engaged in transport management solutions – from software development and equipment manufacturing to developing and implementing unique solutions. During more than 12 years of operation, the company has grown rapidly year after year and has gained both local and international recognition. The company develops transport management solutions using GPS tracking devices and the TrustTrack real-time transport monitoring and control system. The company develops and manufactures all parts of the solution in-house, allowing it to guarantee the highest quality and best results.

UAB “Ruptela” is currently implementing the project “Smart 5G satellite-based global tracking system (SAT5GL)” together with partners Kaunas University of Technology (KTU) and AB “Telia Lietuva”.

The project will develop a product called Ruptela SAT5-GL, which will track objects (containers, bulky goods, cars, trucks, trailers, ships, etc.) globally using a 5G satellite NB-IoT connection. The designed product will be powered by intelligent algorithms and a device management platform and will be unique in that it can operate anywhere in the world. It will also include software for device configuration and embedded firmware updates (Windows-based for local device configuration via USB and Cloud-based for remote device updates and configuration). The device will be optimized for sending and displaying data to the existing UAB “Ruptela” Trust-Track 2 transport management platform – server.

The solution developed under the project will allow for efficient, full-scale operations and avoid disruptions or asset loss by allowing remote monitoring of the device and real-time decision-making.

It is financed by the progress measure of the transport development program of the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Lithuania, manager of the 2022-2030 development program no. 10-001-05-04-01 “Increasing the value created by the transportation system and the efficiency of infrastructure use” activity “Creation, testing and development of digital technological solutions, the implementation of which is necessary for 5G connection”, the conditions and procedures set out in the description and the project administration and financing rules.

  • The project is funded by the Economic Recovery and Resilience Plan “Next Generation Lithuania” (EGADP).
  • The total value of the project is EUR 1.674.123,32.
  • The EGADP grant amounts to EUR 792.127,90.
