Ruptela is looking for an Automotive Connectivity Engineer to join our talented RnD Automotive Connectivity Team

We are creating transport monitoring, data reading, and management solutions to help our clients save resources and the environment with a key focus on exceptional quality. Our Automotive Connectivity Team has a challenging task – enabling our devices to gather information from different vehicles, trucks, trailers, refrigerators, and other transportation equipment. 

As an Automotive Connectivity team member you will be integrating new vehicles into our devices, helping to test and research new features, implementing new solutions, and searching for ways to improve our services. The position will provide an opportunity to become a developer in the future. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform analysis of vehicle communication protocols, data streams, perform vehicle reverse engineering tasks;
  • Manage our vehicle databases;
  • Testing hardware and firmware according to specifications (including non-functional requirements);
  • Cooperate with our FW development and quality assurance teams on given assignments and resolve technical issues together;
  • Also work with non-technical teams to assist customers in solving vehicle interface or compatibility issues;
  • Bug life cycle management – bug reporting, tracking, analysis, and verification;
  • Executing and analyzing automation test results, executing regression testing;
  • Building or improving our working tools.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Basic knowledge in the automotive field: automotive communication protocols and interfaces, architecture (LIN, CAN, CAN FD, FlexRay, Ethernet, K-Line, OBD);
  • Technical problem-solving and analytics skills, ability to provide technical support if needed;
  • Time planning and prioritization skills and ability to react to quick-changing priorities;
  • Self-motivated with a high level of accountability and willingness to learn new things;
  • Availability to travel;
  • Native Spanish and good English language knowledge. Other languages would be an advantage;
  • Driver’s License;
  • MS Office package skills. 

Good to have:

  • Deep understanding of CAN protocols, data packet structure, vehicle manufacturer specifics of OBD diagnostics;
  • Experience in vehicle reverse engineering, communication data loggers, and data analysis tools (Wireshark, Peak, Vector, or similar products);
  • Knowledge or experience in heavy commercial vehicle solutions (e.g., tachographs, data transfer – FMS, J1939, J1708);
  • Basic knowledge about TCP, UDP, RS232, RS485, 1-wire network communication protocols;
  • Bachelor’s degree in telecommunications, automotive engineering or electronics, physics, or a related technical field.
